OML dream teamer Kelly here, and do I have a surprise for you.
The list of "looks" in the fashion world is endless; minimal, casual, trendy, classic, bohemian, rocker, rustic, gothic. Modern, vintage, oversized, hippy, exotic. Artsy, chic, glam, romantic. We get it, there are a LOT.
These styles are found everywhere in fashion, so the knitting and crocheting community is no exception. It goes without saying, there's something for everyone. Finding something you like may not be hard...but incorporating your new accessory? Well, that can be a whole other ballgame,
I'm thrilled to introduce Our Maker Life's newest blog addition: How to Wear It. We are delving into the world of fashion to discover and share where our handmade pieces fit. This feature will showcase one maker, one knit or crocheted accessory, and three ways to wear that handmade piece.
Here at OML we celebrate the unique styles of all makers, and today we are ready to get our boho on with our first featured fashionista: Molly of Spearmint Spruce. Excited to see how she how she incorporates her Boho Triangle Fringe Scarf into three fab outfits? Us too, let's go!
Molly describes her handmade business style as "Bohemian with a Southwest flair."
"I love for the pieces to look effortless and add just enough to any outfit. Blues, teals, with pops of brighter colors are my go-to when I'm trying to branch out from my usual neutral colors!"
"The versatile fringed bandana scarf can be dressed up or down. Here is an example of using it to add texture and color to a boho, summer outfit. Wear it around your neck for that pop of color and as a great statement piece. It pairs great with jean shorts, an extra long kimono, and fun accessories like leather earring and funky jewelry."
"Wear the scarf to add some style to your beach outfit! Drape it around your shoulders or tie it around your waist to achieve that effortless, beachy look. It's also perfect to wear over your bathing suit cover-up or ditch the traditional cover-up and make this scarf a cover-up all its own! Looks great with all types of bathing suit styles and beach accessories like hats and blankets."

Kelly, OML dream team
Kelly is the mind, body and soul behind @knitbrooks: handmade modern knitwear inspired by nature’s endless beauty. After completing a photojournalism program, Kelly used both knitting and crocheting as a way to relax after a long day working as a reporter/photographer. This hobby has since transformed into a way to combine her love of creating fashionable knitwear, with her passion for photography, a cozy lifestyle, and her awe and admiration of the untouched wilderness.
Molly is the maker behind @spearmintspruce. As a full-time wife and mama, she turned to creating leather and crochet goods as an outlet while her husband was away often with the military. With a degree in interior design and fashion merchandising, her favorite courses were those that involved textiles and the fibre arts. Alas - spearmint spruce was born after a few years of co-owning another business with her best friend. Inspired by nature, coziness, and her faith, she creates goods for the wild at heart that aim to reflect the beauty and creativity of her creative God.
