Hi makers! Kelly here, back here with another extra-cozy maker for our How To Wear It series! The OML team loves to connect with makers and celebrate our unique styles here on our blog, and Julia, the maker and shop owner of Northern Loop Knitwear is bringing us the ultimate sweater snuggle-fest. We're happy to have her as a guest here on the blog showcasing her maker style with her go-to piece this winter...an amazing Cable Knit Sweater!
Hi Everyone! My name is Julia and I am the maker behind the small business, Northern Loop Knitwear. I’m so excited to share my story and style with you all.
I’ve been in love with making since I could remember. My grandmother was the first one to teach me how to knit. I didn’t pick it up again until college where I discovered that my passion could be both a stress reliever and creative outlet!
I am featuring my go-to piece this winter. I live in Minnesota so stylish versatility is an absolute necessity. The pattern for this sweater is linked below and it is a perfect, easy knit! I’ve thrown together some of my favorite outfits for style inspiration.
Look 1: Around the House
After a long day at work, there’s nothing better than cuddling up with a favorite project and cup of warm cocoa. Toss this cozy sweater on paired with your favorite pair of printed leggings! It will be sure to keep you warm and Netflix-ready all evening long.
Look 2: Running Errands
Denim is my favorite way to transition to a casual, “out and about” look! Add your favorite pair of distressed jeans for texture. And as we all know, making the trek outside is a big deal in the winter… so be sure to add your favorite snow boots and vest for extra warmth!
Look 3: Date Night
I always have difficulties finding cute outfits to wear in chilly weather. How can anyone look cute with ten thousand layers on?!? The key is simple details! Layering a collared shirt and throwing on a pair of statement earrings is the perfect way to dress up your sweater to be date night ready.
Which look is your favorite - Julia's first Around the House look, her second Running Errands look, or her third Date Night look? I'm partial to the warm and fuzzy vibes radiating off her Around the House photo...but that's just me. If you recreate and rock Julia's HTWI looks, share it with us on instagram with #ourmakerlife #northernloopknitwear - we'd love to see!
Happy making (and cozy wearing!)
